Hoteliers Lanka is the Sri Lanka’s leading hospitality network. We use technology to connect the world’s best talent with the world’s best hospitality brands and hotel schools. (“Services”)

When you use or access these Services, we will collect, use, transfer and retain certain information about you. This Privacy policy is intended to help you understand how and why we do this, and your rights in this respect.

All sites, services, applications and tools covered by this Privacy Policy are also referred to herein as “the Services”. We ask that you read this Privacy Policy and that you consent to our collection, use, transfer, and retention of information about you as described in this Privacy Policy.

The following Privacy Policy discloses how we process the information we collect when you use the Hoteliers Lanka website and how you can manage it.

If you use our Services, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your personal data under this Privacy Policy.

DATA CONTROLLER AND REPRESENTATIVE OF THE DATA CONTROLLER

• In respect to data collected under the Hoteliers Lanka Services, your data controller is Mentor Fuse (Private) Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Mentor Fuse”). The Company has been registered at Registrar of Companies, Sri Lanka and the Reg. No. PV00210373

• Your data controller is the company that is primarily responsible for the handling of your personal data that we collect.

INFORMATION WE PROCESS

• We process the information and personal data you voluntarily provide to Hoteliers Lanka. The additional information you may provide by using the website, our Services and in general in the development of your relationship with Hoteliers Lanka, is also processed by us.

• The data that we collect and that we may share with your school in the event that the school is also the data controller is the following:
name, education, experience, member management, email, phone, skype account, nationality, current location, birthdate, graduation date, last experience title, last experience department, status (active or not), creation and registration date, last update, approval date and last login, profile completion, and Tags.
• When you register on the Platform (manually, via your LinkedIn or Facebook accounts or via a request to our team): including but not limited to, we collect your name, your school or company, your city and country, your email and a password always according to your own social media’s privacy settings.

• When you complete or edit your profile (manually or via social media synchronizations) with further information about yourself or your organization, this information may also include documents or files that you upload to your profile, such as your resume, diploma, cover letters or endorsement letters for candidates, and, for companies and hotel schools, items such as news, articles, videos, pictures and social media feeds. Providing further information about yourself beyond what is expressly required is on a voluntary basis. Should you decide not to share certain information while using our Services, this may affect some of the Services provided by the Platform, and your experience as a user may be restricted.

• When you use certain Platform applications, interact with third-party applications, click on ads, respond to questionnaires, participate in contests, register for promotions, or open emails, according to your Privacy setting account on Hoteliers Lanka Platform.

• Credit card information you may provide when you make online orders on the Site is processed through a third-party credit card service company which uses encryption to protect your credit card information. Hoteliers Lanka does not store such information.

• We may also collect non-personal information on a strictly voluntary basis. We may use such non-personal information to improve the Site, customize your experience on the Platform and share this information with third parties, but only in aggregate with non-identifiable information provided.

USES OF DATA BY HOTELIERS LANKA

• Except as stated in this Privacy Policy, Hoteliers Lanka does not sell, rent, share or otherwise provide your personal information to any third parties for marketing purposes without your consent.

• It is important that you bear in mind that your profile in the Hoteliers Lanka Platform is public, this means that if you sign up third parties can identify you. If you do not agree with this aspect, please, don’t register on Hoteliers Lanka.

• We use the information you provide to:

a. Manage the use of the Hoteliers Lanka Platform and Services, allowing Users to (i) read news and contents related with Hospitality activities, (ii) contact and establish connections with other Users of the Platform and (iii) generate or exchange information between Users, hotel schools and companies. These are the fundamental purposes of our Services, so if you do not agree with this use of your data by Hoteliers Lanka do not activate your account.

b. In connection with fundamental purposes described above we will also process your data for the following purposes:
• Give you access to the functions, applications and services of the Platform.
• Enable you to communicate with other Users and with Hoteliers Lanka.
• Communicate with you.
• Customize the service provided to you and other Users.
• Send non-promotional information required to enable your access and use of the Services.
• Analysis and processing of information obtained from satisfaction surveys, or from your interaction with Hoteliers Lanka, as result of your own specific activity, in order to provide the Services in the most efficient manner.
• Manage items such as questionnaires, contests and promotions.
• Provide Users and third parties with relevant anonymous statistics on the Platform and its Users.
• Fulfill legal and any other necessary requirements.
• Investigate, respond to, and resolve complaints and Service Issues.
• For security, fraud prevention and investigations
• Promote our Services and product by sending commercial communications.

b. Additional purposes of processing: in addition to the fundamental purposes described above, by accepting this privacy policy you expressly authorize Hoteliers Lanka to process your data for the following additional purposes:
• Sending promotional communications about products of a similar nature to the Services.
• Legislation on Information Society Services enables Hoteliers Lanka to send you promotional information of this nature. You can opt-out from this kind of promotional communication, at any time, by sending an email message to our Data Protection Coordinator, at the contact details provided in the Privacy Policy.

• You have the right, at any time, to withdraw your consent for Hoteliers Lanka to collect and process your information and may do so by changing your Account Settings. The processing of some information is needed for the purposes of the site, and therefore you may only withdraw consent for this by deactivating your account.

However, you acknowledge that such withdrawal will not be retroactive and Users who have had access to your information may have retained a copy of your profile or other content in their own files. Hoteliers Lanka cannot be held liable for the retention or future use of such information by third parties.

• Be aware that your Notification Settings allow you to enable or disable indexation of your User profile by search engines (such as Google, Yahoo, Bing or others). While Hoteliers Lanka will process your request immediately, de-indexation is not automatic and it may take a few months for the search engine to eliminate the site from its results.

LEGITIMIZATION FOR THE PROCESSING OF YOUR DATA.

• Hoteliers Lanka has a legitimate interest to process your personal data for the fundamental purposes described above, since such processing is necessary to deliver the Services to you, and to comply with our own obligations with you as result of your participation in the Hoteliers Lanka Platform.

• As per the additional purposes of processing related to promotional activities and promotional profiling, Hoteliers Lanka is entitled by law or by the express consent you provide in connection with such purposes.
• You can revoke your consent at any time, by addressing the corresponding revocation request to our Data Protection Coordinator, to the postal or electronic addresses provided in this Privacy Policy. Please note that by revoking your consent you will be disabling the future processing of data, however, this will not be applied retroactively to data processing which has already been carried out by Hoteliers Lanka.

• In case you revoke your consent, your revocation will not affect the legality of the data processing performed by Hoteliers Lanka to its revocation.

THIRD PARTIES AND CROSS BORDER DATA TRANSFERS

• Hoteliers Lanka transfers of your personal data to other users according to your privacy setting, and to the hotel schools or other companies which have access to Hoteliers Lanka’s platform and which might be interested in your profile. Some of the processing is necessary to comply with the fundamental purposes in connection with the Services, so if you do not agree with such transfers, please do not activate your Hoteliers Lanka account. In any case, you will be able to set up your own privacy settings, according to the options offered at any time by Hoteliers Lanka’s platform and services.

• Hoteliers Lanka may work with third-party companies and provide them with your personal information so that they may perform certain functions and services on its behalf, for example, to process credit card payments and to provide customer service and marketing assistance. These third-party companies are bound to maintain the strictest confidentiality of your information and are only authorized to process your personal data following Hoteliers Lanka’s instructions.

• Hoteliers Lanka may, at any time hire national and international contractors for the sole purpose of managing the Platform. It will always enter into agreements with these individuals or entities that guarantee the safety and confidentiality of personal data, and according to current data protection regulations. In the event that contractors whose servers are located outside Sri Lanka have to process any personal data, they shall comply with the provisions established by the data protection regulations.

• Hoteliers Lanka hires email marketing services from third-party providers who may be located outside Sri Lanka. Hoteliers Lanka will only hire providers who guarantee their compliance and standards.

These platforms allow Hoteliers Lanka to collect information from its campaigns, that is, to track the openings of the emails and the clicks on contents or links included in the emails. This information is collected in order to prepare statistical reports on the behavior of the recipients, to optimize the best date and hour to send the email campaign.

• Third-party websites may have links posted on Hoteliers Lanka, but they are not subject to this Privacy Policy and you, therefore, review the privacy policy of each website in order to determine how they process User information.

RETENTION

Hoteliers Lanka will store all users’ information while the relationship with Hoteliers Lanka is maintained and after the termination of said relationship for any reason, during the statutory limitation periods that are applicable. Once the statutory limitation periods have expired, your data will be deleted or alternatively anonymized.

YOUR CONTROL OF THE INFORMATION COLLECTED

• You may edit the personal information submitted at any time directly in your profile.

• You may control, at any time, what type of information is visible and accessible to other Users through your Account Settings and you agree and acknowledge that certain basic information about you and each User of the Site will be included, visible and accessible to any Users in the respective public profiles on the Site.

• You may control, at any time, what kind of communication and notification is sent to you through your Account Settings.

• Hoteliers Lanka has defined default visibility and notification settings and Users are encouraged to adjust and review them when registering to the Site in accordance with their preferences, as well as on a regular basis when using the Site.

• You can close your account by simply clicking on “Deactivate Account” in your Account Settings. Your personal information will then be removed from the visible section of the Site and Hoteliers Lanka will delete your account accordingly, except for the information and content generated or submitted by you, which may be kept for legal or business purposes. Certain information and content generated or submitted by you may be kept for legal or business purposes or simply to ensure the continued service, functions and applications of the Site for other Users. Hoteliers Lanka disclaims any liability in relation to the deletion or retention of information.

RIGHTS OF THE USER

• You may exercise the following rights at any time:
• Right to request access to your personal data.
• Right to request rectification or deletion.
• Right to request the limitation of the processing.
• Right to oppose the processing.

• You must send a letter via email to the Data Protection Coordinator at info@hotelierslanka.com, or to the postal address provided in the section “Contact Us” on this site, indicating the specific right that you wish to exercise, and attaching a copy of your ID or equivalent identification document. Should you wish to send an email, please include “Privacy Rights” as the subject of the email.

• You may withdraw consent, at any time, without affecting the legality of the processing based on your consent.

COMMERCIAL COMMUNICATIONS

• Following your registration on the Site, and during your use of the Site, you may receive emails from Hoteliers Lanka on services and product updates and with the sole purpose we have indicated in section 3 of this Privacy Policy.

• We will include an email address and an unsubscribe link in each commercial communication so that you are able to unsubscribe from this type of communications.

COOKIES

Hoteliers Lanka may make use of cookies to track site usage and trends and generally to improve the quality of the Site. You can remove or block cookies in your browser settings

IP ADDRESSES

When Users use the Site, we collect standard information such as their IP addresses and use such data in an anonymous and collective manner to analyze trends and more generally to improve the quality of the Site.

CHILDREN AND UNDER AGED

Children are strictly not eligible to use the Site and Services. We request that minors (under the age of 16) do not submit any personal information to us.

BUSINESS TRANSITIONS

In the event that Hoteliers Lanka goes through a merger or acquisition (including partially) by another company, User information will be part of the assets transferred and the newly formed/buying company will have the right to continue to use the personal and other information provided, informing to the User and complying in any case with the General Data Protection Regulation.

SECURITY

Access to your Hoteliers Lanka account and information is protected by a username and password. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of this login information and for controlling access to your account.

The personal information you provide is stored on restricted servers and being applicable state of the art security measures according to international standards. However, please be aware that the Internet is not a fully secure environment and there is no guarantee that information may not be viewed, disclosed, altered, destroyed or used for any improper purposes in breach of our safeguards or by causes beyond our control. In order to minimize this risk, we recommend that you change your password on a regular basis.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

Hoteliers Lanka may modify this Privacy Policy at any time. We consequently encourage you to check the Site periodically for any changes or updates. In any case, we will contact you to communicate any modifications which substantially affect the contents of this Privacy Policy.

Welcome to Mentor Fuse (Private) Limited (“Mentor Fuse” “we,” “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains our policies and procedures pertaining to the collection, processing, storage and protection of potentially personally identifiable information in relation to our mobile services, and any other services we provide (collectively, our “Services” or “Hoteliers Lanka”). By using Hoteliers Lanka, you agree to the policies and procedures set forth in this Privacy Policy. You should review this Privacy Policy to understand our practices pertaining to personally identifiable information.

By using our Services, you understand and agree that we are providing a platform for you to post text, graphics, photos or other materials (collectively referred to as “Content”), to Hoteliers Lanka and to share Content publicly. Please be advised that other users may search for, see, use, or share any of your Content that you make publicly available through Hoteliers Lanka, consistent with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.

1. Information We collect

1.1. Information you provide to us directly. This includes your username, password and entity related email address in connection with our registration process and the maintenance of your account with us which allows you to use our Services. Please be advised that we do not request or require that you provide us with your name, address, phone number or any additional identifying information in order to use our Services.
1.2. Content. Potential Personally Identifying Information that you provide may also include the content and images you post, publish or transmit when using Hoteliers Lanka.
1.3. Cookies. Like many websites, we may use cookies and similar technology for limited purposes such as, to help authenticate your access to message boards and prevent unauthorized parties from accessing your account.
1.4. Analytics information. We use third-party analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for our Services. These tools collect information sent by your device or our Services, including the pages you visit, sections of Hoteliers Lanka that users visit, the posts that users view, user comments, poll results, aggregate user location statistical data, duration of use and other statistical data that assists us in continuously improving the Service. We collect and utilize this analytics information in the aggregate as it pertains to all of our users. As such, the Analytics information that we collect cannot reasonably be used to identify any particular individual user.
1.5. Information from Third Parties. We may be provided with entity email addresses from third parties for purposes of verifying that a user continues to be affiliated with an entity or is affiliated with an entity.

2. Storage and Processing of Information

Your Specific Account Information (user name, password, and the entity related email address) is immediately encrypted when you register for our Services, and we store and/or process this encrypted information in the United States, Sri Lanka, South Korea and Japan. The entity related email address is encrypted so as to conceal the identity of the specific user. We are able to determine the number of employees associated with a company who have registered to use our Services. Our users may request that we invite, on their behalf, other individuals to use our Services. In such circumstances, the entity related email address provided by the original user is also encrypted so as to conceal the identity of the potential new user.

If you engage in a monetary transaction with us in connection with our Services, you may be required to provide billing information, including your name, address, phone number and credit card data. Please be advised that, while we will be able to assign a specific amount to your account with us, Hoteliers Lanka utilizes third-party payment services to effectuate these transactions. As such, we will not have access to any of this billing information, including your name, address, phone number and credit card data.

We maintain our offices in Sri Lanka. We do not have a physical presence outside of the country.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards and take reasonable steps to keep the information pertaining to your Specific Account Information encrypted at all times, so that the information will not be decrypted and accessible. Please be advised that our retention of all data and information obtained in connection with our Services, including personally identifiable information, is consistent with industry accepted practices and industry security standards. We implement these security practices for the safekeeping of your data.

You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your Specific Account Information and for controlling access to our Services at all times as we are not able to decrypt and access your encrypted account information.

3. How We Use Information

In addition to some of the specific uses of information we describe in this Privacy Policy, we may use information:
• to provide, improve, test, and monitor the effectiveness of our Services;
• to develop and test new products and features;
• to diagnose or fix technology problems;
• for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, and research;

4. Change of Control

In the event of a change of control. If we sell or otherwise transfer part or all of Hoteliers Lanka or our assets to another entity (e.g., in the course of a transaction such as a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution or liquidation), your information, such as username and encrypted email address, Content and any other information collected through the Service may be among the items sold or transferred. You will continue to own your User Content. The purchaser or transferee will be required to honour the commitments we have made in this Privacy Policy.

Responding to legal requests and preventing harm, all of the information you provide us, including your account information, will be stored in encrypted format, and we will not be able to identify who provided the information once such information is stored in our system. We may access, preserve and share part of such information in response to a legal request if we have a good faith belief that the law requires us to do so. However, the information that Hoteliers Lanka can provide to a request from law enforcement or in response to a legal request such as a subpoena does not include any information that can be used to identify a specific individual. We may also disclose information as necessary to protect the legal rights, property or safety of our users, the public, and/or Teamblind.

5. Policy Pertaining to Children

Hoteliers Lanka does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of consent established by the data protection law of their applicable country. Hoteliers Lanka does not knowingly allow such persons to register for the Services. The Services are not directed to anyone under the age of consent established by the data protection law of their applicable country. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from anyone under the age of consent established by the data protection law of their applicable country, we will take all reasonable steps to erase such information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we may possess any information provided by or pertaining to a child, please contact us.

6. Rights to Your Data

Users of our Services may possess additional rights pertaining to processing and retention of personally identifiable information. If you are such a user and you request: 1) a copy of personal identifiable information, or; 2) correction or deletion of personal identifiable information, please contact us at [info@hotelierslanka.com]. Please be advised that the personal identifiable information in our possession is limited to the Content you have provided to us. We are unable to provide an entity related email address for a specific user because it is immediately encrypted upon registration. In addition, we do not discriminate against users of our Services based on whether they have exercised their rights under any privacy laws.

Hoteliers Lanka may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time, so please review it periodically. We may provide you with additional forms of notice, modifications or updates as appropriate under the circumstances. Your continued use of our Services after any modification to this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such modification.

CLASSIFIED ADS

Your privacy is important to us, so Hoteliers Lanka has created this Privacy Policy to explain how your information is protected, collected and used. This Privacy Policy applies to our web sites, and web sites which we operate on behalf of our partners (the “Sites”). This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. You can always review the most current version here. By using the Sites, you consent to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy and are aware that our policies may evolve in the future. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Use governing your use of the Sites and this Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use control.

Protecting Your Privacy

In various places on the Sites, we collect “Personally Identifiable Information,” such as your name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address, or other information that can be used to identify you or contact you.
1. Hoteliers Lanka will not share any of your Personally Identifiable Information, except for the information you choose to publicly disclose in the listings you publish, with our advertisers or any third parties for marketing purposes.
2. Hoteliers Lanka offers email anonymization & relay to protect your identity and reduce spam.
3. Account information is password protected. Keep your password safe.
4. Hoteliers Lanka does not knowingly collect any Personally Identifiable Information from persons under the age of 13, and Hoteliers Lanka does not permit persons under the age of 13 to register on the Sites. If Hoteliers Lanka learns that a listing is by a person under the age of 13, Hoteliers Lanka will remove that listing.
Hoteliers Lanka, or people that place listings on Hoteliers Lanka, may provide links to third-party web sites, which may have different privacy practices than Hoteliers Lanka. We are not responsible for, nor have any control over, the privacy policies on these third-party web sites. We encourage all users to read the privacy policies of every web site you visit.

Registration

Registration is required to place a listing through our service or to use other types of functionality that require the service to recognize a user (e.g., Hoteliers Lanka Alerts). If you decide to register or sign up for certain services, you will need to give us certain Personally Identifiable Information, such as a valid e-mail address. You will also have the option to provide other Personally Identifiable Information such as your address. Personally Identifiable Information will be used to personalize and improve your experience of our service. This information will not be disclosed to any third party without your explicit consent.

Registered users and users that provide their email address to Hoteliers Lanka may receive a copy of our newsletter and other occasional mailings from us regarding our service or the Sites. You may opt-out of receiving future mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link on the email, or by updating your subscription information on the Subscription Tab in the My Account section.

You can review and change your Personally Identifiable Information or password at any time on the My Profile Tab in the My Account section.

Cookies, Web Beacons and Scripts

Like many web sites, Hoteliers Lanka uses a standard technology call “cookies.” A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer’s hard drive that can be accessed by a specific web site to make your experience quicker and more convenient. Cookies allow our users to login without entering their ID and password each time they use Hoteliers Lanka. Cookies also help us understand how our users use the Sites, which allows us to improve the service. We do not use cookies to retrieve any information from your computer other than the information we provide, such as a user code.

A “web beacon” is an electronic file that signals when a web page, an advertisement, a video or other type of content has been viewed. A “script” is a short section of computer code included in a Web page or other content that can be used to set and access a cookie on your computer’s hard drive and to record your activity on a web site. Web beacons and scripts can be used for a number of purposes, including counting and tracking visitors to the Sites, recognizing and accessing cookies, recording page view information, tracking and reporting audience information and conducting research to improve the Sites.

Hoteliers Lanka allows certain third parties to set and access their own cookies, use their own web beacons and use their own scripts on and through the Sites. How other companies use their own cookies, web beacons and scripts and the information they gather is subject to those companies’ own privacy policies, not this Privacy Policy. Some of these companies are participants in the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”), a cooperative of online marketing and analytics companies committed to building consumer awareness and establishing responsible business and data management practices and standards. Data We Collect

In addition to Personally Identifiable Information you provide at registration or by using the service, we collect the following information:

  1. Listings content. When you place a listing or a review on the Sites, we collect a variety of information related to that listing (e.g., price, model). The public will see any information that you include in your listing, and as such, Hoteliers Lanka has no control over how this information will be used. For that reason, please think carefully about what Personally Identifiable Information you disclose in your listing. You can always edit or deactivate any of your listings.
  2. Discussions about listings. When you comment on a listing. You can always delete your comments.
  3. Correspondence. Correspondence between you and the other party initiated through our site, and correspondence to us.
  4. “Anonymous Information” such as your IP address, the type of browser you use, the pages on our Sites that you visit, the search terms that you enter and the advertisements that you click. This information is used to help us diagnose problems, administer the site and otherwise improve our service to you.
  5. Credit/debit card information. Credit card information, including credit card numbers, is collected but not stored. We use trusted third-party vendors to handle secure credit card transactions for us. Our vendors use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and are PCI compliant.

Data We Store

The following information is stored in our database, even after deletion, and may be archived:

Registration information.
1. All listings, review and comment content.
2. Messages sent in regards to listings.
3. Activity logs and other records.
Although we make good faith efforts to store information in a secure environment that is not made available to the public, we cannot guarantee complete security.

Use

We may use the information you disclosed to us to:

  1. Provide our services to you.
  2. Provide customer service to you.
  3. Prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities.
  4. Enforce our Terms of Use.
  5. Automatically scan messages to check for spam, fraud, phishing attacks and other malicious activity or illegal or prohibited content.

Disclosure

Oodle may disclose information about its users if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to:

  1. Respond to a legal process (e.g., subpoenas, court orders).
  2. Respond to claims that a listing or content violates the rights of third parties.
  3. Enforce our Terms of Use.
  4. Protect the rights, property or personal safety of Hoteliers Lanka, its users or the general public.

Hoteliers Lanka may also disclose information with:

  1. Our partner web sites if you create an account on one of those sites.
  2. Service providers under contract who help us with business operations such as fraud investigations.

We may share Personally Identifiable Information and other information about you with our parent company, affiliates, and subsidiaries for the use and benefit of those companies. If we merge with or are acquired by another company, the resulting combined company will use the information you have provided as described in this Privacy Policy.

International Users

The Sites are hosted in Sri Lanka.
